• AIDS activists protest Budget Cuts at Capitol - March 27, 2008 - ...an angry group of protestors from Housing Works took the halls of the Capitol by storm, demanding the state restore the funding for people infected with HIV and AIDS. • Demonstration at Pataki Headquarters- October 31, 2006- to protest proposed changes to the legislature affecting rent payment amounts to PLWA's in SRO's and Supportive Housing. Our legal team won a 45 day injunction to delay the changes while litigation continues. Read more here.
• UBC Street Fair- September 30th 2006--it was packed. People were lining up hours before waiting for it to open! Everyone worked their butt off, had a lot of fun and raised a lot of money. Even the weather cooperated! Check it out....
• 2nd Annual Transgender Cruise in memory of Arlene Hoffman- September 7th 2006-- Brazilian Carnivale on the Hudson, with dancers, capoeria and lots of good company, food and drink! It was a great party!!!
• HW at the Demonstration at the S African Embassy, Day of Unity. As a result of actions around the globe, in DURBAN, South Africa, a South African judge ordered the government to start providing anti-AIDS medication immediately to sick prisoners at a Durban prison, throwing out an appeal by the health and prison ministries against an earlier ruling.
